The creation of Poznañ archaeological mission in Anatolia in 2000 and works commenced at Çatalhöyük was the first research initiative of Faculty of Archaeology (formerly: Institute of Prehistory) in the Near East. For eight years it had been the only Insitutes' mission conducting archaeological excavation in the Mediterranean Sea zone. (more)

TPC Area

In years 2012-2017 the work on the Late Neolithic at Çatalhöyük was carried out in the new excavation zone named the TP Connection Area (TPC), located in the previously unexplored area on the SW slope of its southern prominence. East Area

The excavation area designated as East is located on a little prominence on the eastern slope of the East Mound. It comprises a strip 10 x 50 m of EW alignment.
